Lent begins next Wednesday February 25th. For me, Lent is a time to reflect and learn more about the process of forgiveness.
Was taking performance enhancing steroids wrong?
Yes.
Did A Rod make a mistake?Yes. Was he trying to cheat? Yes. Would he have confessed if the SI writer hadn't investigated thoroughly enough to uncover his past actions?
Only A Rod and his conscience knows the answer to that question.
But does that matter in the present moment?
" Judge me only from this moment forward." he asks.
I believe he is asking for FAN forgiveness.
Let's stop crucifying him
Let's forgive him and move forward to another baseball season
