Wednesday- Peanut night

Wednesday, the middle of the work week for most people. The Village Jug, a popular hang out in Woodstock in the seventies instituted a peanut night- on Wednesdays. Peanuts and beer- juke box music- people crammed wall to wall into the bar. A spectacular way to manage the hum drum of the daily grind, socialize and gear up for the weekend. “ Develop interest in life as you see it; in people, things, literature, music- the world is so rich, simply throbbing with rich treasures, beautiful souls and interesting people. Forget yourself.” Henry Miller. I think that’s what peanut night was all about- forgetting yourself!
